Audit Log
Review community activity, filter events, export audit history, and follow links back to source records.
Overview
The Audit Log records important community activity across the board and resident portals. It helps the board understand who changed what, when it happened, and which record was affected.
The audit trail is community-scoped and ordered newest first.
What Is Logged
Audit events can include:
- Homeowner creation, updates, deletes, restores, and bulk status changes
- Dues period generation, close, reopen, payment changes, waivers, refunds
- Violation creation, status changes, notes, deletes, restores, resident responses
- Maintenance creation, updates, assignment, status changes, notes, deletes, restores
- Document uploads, visibility changes, deletes, restores
- Announcements create, update, publish, delete
- Vendor imports, deletes, restores
- Financial transactions and budgets
- Meeting creation, updates, attendance, motions, votes, minutes
- Calendar events
- Poll creation, voting, close, delete
- Forum threads, comments, moderation, follows
- Reports
- Settings and automation changes
Some actions include before/after metadata.
Filters
The audit page can filter by:
- Actor search
- Entity type
- Action
- From date
- To date
Filters apply on the server and support pagination.
Entity Links
When an audit event has an entity ID, the table shows a View link that routes to the relevant board page. If no route exists, the entity ID snippet is shown instead.
Examples:
- Homeowner events link to homeowner detail.
- Violation events link to violation detail.
- Maintenance events link to maintenance detail.
- Meeting events link to meeting detail.
System Events
Some actions are created by automation rather than a person. These may show the actor as System or an automation label.
Examples include:
- Auto-mark dues late
- Auto-escalation
- Scheduled announcement publishing
- Daily digest checks
- Trial expiry
Exporting
Use the audit CSV export for:
- Board review
- Compliance packets
- Investigating disputed changes
- Record retention
- External review
Exports include the community's audit history in spreadsheet-friendly form.
