Board Portal

Dashboard

Use the board dashboard for setup health, attention items, metrics, activity, financial summaries, and governance readiness.

Overview

The Dashboard is the command center for the board portal. It combines setup status, immediate action items, operational metrics, financial snapshots, activity history, governance readiness, and community trends.

The dashboard is read-heavy but includes quick actions for common workflows such as adding homeowners, filing violations, creating maintenance requests, and generating dues periods.

Setup Health Panel

The setup health panel checks whether the community has completed key setup tasks:

Item Why it matters
Configure dues billing Required before periods can be generated
Generate first dues period Creates payment records residents can pay
Upload community logo Used in portal branding, reports, and emails
Upload governing documents Gives residents access to core rules/docs
Invite residents Links homeowners to portal accounts
Connect bank account Enables online resident dues and fine payments

Critical items block meaningful payment operations until completed.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab includes:

  • A metric strip for dues, violations, maintenance, homeowners, and all-time balance
  • A "This week" agenda
  • A "Needs attention" list
  • Quick actions
  • Governance readiness
  • Recent activity

The dashboard uses current data from dues, violations, maintenance, meetings, documents, announcements, transactions, polls, and resident messaging.

Needs Attention

The attention list is priority sorted. It can include:

  • Dues not configured
  • Urgent maintenance requests
  • Late payments
  • Escalated violations
  • Violations open over 21 days
  • Documents expiring within 30 days
  • Board packet not generated for an upcoming meeting
  • Active homeowners without email addresses
  • Unread resident messages
  • Polls closing soon

Items link directly to the relevant module or filtered view.

This Week

The agenda highlights near-term events:

  • Maintenance requests submitted today
  • Violations logged today
  • Dues periods due soon
  • Upcoming meetings within about 14 days

This is meant to keep recurring board work visible without opening every module.

Financials Tab

The Financials tab summarizes:

  • Total income
  • Total expenses
  • Net balance
  • Reserve balance
  • Current month income/expenses
  • Month-by-month income and expenses
  • Top expense categories
  • Recent transactions
  • Year-end forecast
  • Aging buckets for late dues

Financial data comes from the transactions ledger. Dues payments, fine payments, and refunds can automatically create ledger entries.

Community Tab

The Community tab shows:

  • Community pulse
  • Board action queue
  • Open violation charts by status and category
  • Open maintenance charts by status and priority
  • Urgent open maintenance requests
  • Service and standards trends
  • Polls closing soon
  • Unread resident conversations
  • Announcement activity

Use this tab to monitor community health beyond finances.

Governance Readiness

Governance readiness highlights meeting-related work:

  • Next scheduled meeting
  • Whether the agenda is set
  • Completed meetings missing minutes
  • Pending motions
  • Whether a board packet was recently generated

This helps secretaries and board leaders prepare before meetings.

Activity Feed

The recent activity feed includes records from the last 30 days, such as:

  • Violations
  • Maintenance requests
  • Paid dues
  • Generated dues periods
  • Announcements
  • Documents

Each item links back to its source module.
