Notifications

Use the notification center, understand notification types, preferences, unread state, and resident notification routing.


Overview

Notifications keep board members aware of work that needs attention. They appear in the header bell, the board Notifications page, and can be summarized in the daily board digest when enabled.

Notification preferences are stored per board member. Turning a type off affects only your account.


Notification Center

The Notifications page includes:

  • Total notification count
  • Unread count
  • Mark all as read
  • Read/unread filter
  • Type filter
  • Grouping by Today, This Week, and Earlier
  • Links to source records when available

Opening the bell or using mark-all-read updates read state.


Board Notification Types

Type Trigger
Urgent Maintenance Urgent request submitted
New Maintenance Non-urgent request submitted
New Violation Violation filed
Violation Escalated Violation status changes to escalated
Payment Received Dues payment marked paid
Dues Late Payment marked late by board or automation
Meeting Reminder Scheduled reminder before a meeting
Board Digest Daily summary of action items
Maintenance SLA SLA threshold breached
Resident Violation Note Resident responds to a violation
Resident Maintenance Note Resident adds a request update

Preferences default on unless explicitly set to off.


Who Receives Board Notifications

Board notifications are created for homeowners who:

  • Belong to the community
  • Are marked as board members
  • Have a linked user account
  • Have not disabled that notification type

If no board members are linked to user accounts, no board notification rows are created.

Notifications can link to:

  • Violations
  • Maintenance requests
  • Dues records
  • Meetings
  • Polls
  • Forum threads
  • Dashboard or settings pages

Board notifications route to board pages. Resident notifications route to resident-accessible pages.


Notification Preferences

Board notification preferences are managed in Settings -> Notifications. Available toggles include operational, payment, meeting, digest, and SLA notification categories.

Resident notification preferences are managed by residents in their portal Settings.


Daily Board Digest

When enabled, the board digest can summarize:

  • Late dues count and amount
  • Escalated violations
  • Urgent open maintenance
  • Unread resident messages
  • Upcoming meetings
  • Billing or Stripe Connect warnings

The digest is sent only when there is something actionable.


Troubleshooting

Issue Check
No notification received Confirm your homeowner record is linked to your user account and marked board
Wrong notification route Confirm the entity still exists and was not deleted
Too many notifications Turn off categories in Settings
Resident did not receive a notice Confirm resident has linked portal access and has not disabled that type
