Community
Use the resident community tools: calendar, meetings, polls, forum, board messaging, and support.
Overview
The resident community area includes tools for shared communication and participation:
- Community calendar
- Community-visible meetings
- Polls
- Forum
- Resident-board messaging
- Help & Support
These tools are separate from private account records like dues, violations, and maintenance requests.
Calendar
The calendar shows:
- Public community events created by the board
- Annual and special meetings from the Meetings module
Internal board meetings are excluded from the resident calendar. Private board-only events are also excluded.
Meetings
Residents can view community-visible meetings, including annual and special meetings. The resident meetings page separates upcoming and past meetings and may show meeting details such as:
- Title
- Type
- Scheduled date/time
- Location
- Agenda
- Motions when available
Cancelled meetings are excluded from resident meeting lists.
Polls
Polls let residents vote on board-created questions.
Important rules:
- Voting is one-time.
- Submitted votes cannot be changed.
- Residents see results after voting or after the poll closes.
- Polls may close automatically if all homeowners have voted.
- Polls can also close when the board closes them or when the close date passes.
Poll audit entries keep voter names anonymous in the audit actor field.
Forum
The forum is a resident discussion space. Residents can:
- Browse threads
- Filter by category
- Search title/body
- Create a thread
- Upload up to 3 thread photos
- Comment on open threads
- Follow or unfollow threads
- Close or reopen their own thread
- Delete their own thread or comment
Board members can moderate by pinning, hiding, closing, or deleting threads. Hidden threads are not visible to residents.
Forum Categories
Forum categories come from the portal's configured category list. Choose the category that best describes the post so other residents and board members can find it.
Use the forum for community discussion. Use board messaging for private account-specific questions.
Messaging the Board
Messaging creates a private conversation between the resident and the board. Residents can use it for:
- Payment questions
- Violation clarification
- Maintenance follow-up
- Profile corrections
- General board questions
The board sees conversations in its community messaging inbox. Read timestamps track whether the resident or board has unread messages.
Help & Support
Help & Support is for SyncHOA portal support and feedback. Residents can:
- Submit a feature idea
- Report a portal issue
- Attach screenshots or videos to issue reports
- Message SyncHOA support
- Review their own support history
Attachment limits:
- Images up to 5 MB
- Videos up to 50 MB
- Up to 3 attachments per feedback item
Use Help & Support for software issues, not HOA account disputes.
