Community

Manage community calendar events, resident forum moderation, polls, board messaging, and support requests.


Overview

The Community section includes:

These tools connect board operations with resident engagement and SyncHOA support.


Calendar

The board calendar shows:

  • Board-created community events
  • Meetings from the Meetings module

Board users can create, edit, and delete calendar events. Event fields include:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Start date/time
  • End date/time
  • All-day flag
  • Location
  • Color
  • Public visibility

Public events appear in the resident calendar. Private events remain board-only.


Resident Calendar Visibility

Residents see:

  • Public community events
  • Annual and special meetings

Residents do not see:

  • Private calendar events
  • Internal board meeting types
  • Deleted events

Polls

Boards can create polls with:

  • Title
  • Optional description
  • Multiple options
  • Optional close date

Polls start active. Board users can close or delete polls. Residents can vote once, and votes cannot be changed.

Poll results appear to residents after they vote or after the poll closes. Polls can auto-close when all homeowners have voted.


Forum Moderation

Residents and board members can participate in the forum. Board users have additional moderation controls:

  • Pin/unpin threads
  • Hide/unhide threads
  • Close/reopen threads
  • Delete threads
  • Delete comments

Hidden threads are not visible to residents. Pinned threads sort above regular threads.


Messaging

Messaging is a private resident-board inbox. The board can:

  • View resident conversations
  • See unread state
  • Open a conversation
  • Send board replies

Resident and board read timestamps track whether a conversation needs attention. Unread resident messages appear in dashboard attention items and board digest signals.


Help & Requests

Help & Requests connects board and resident users to SyncHOA support. Users can:

  • Message support
  • Submit feature requests
  • Submit bug reports
  • Attach images or videos to bug reports
  • Review feedback status

Support conversations are also available to SyncHOA admins in the admin support area.


Audit Logging

Calendar events, polls, forum moderation, messaging creation, and support-related actions are logged where applicable. Poll vote audit entries intentionally avoid exposing voter names in the actor name.
